Grant Proposal Writing for Postdocs in the Social Sciences

This workshop covers national and international funding schemes for early-stage researchers in the social sciences who do already have first postdoc experiences. Trainers will outline the major differences between the funding programmes ERC Starting Grant and ERC Consolidator Grant, FWF Start, FWF Elise Richter and FWF Stand-alone and provide advice on addressing the respective evaluation criteria. Tips and tricks will involve topics such as proposal structure, work plan, budget table, as well as the presentation of previous research achievements. Moreover, selected winners of the above-mentioned funding programmes will be invited to provide additional insights into the application process.

Trainers: Amy Radlberger, BA, Tobias Reckling MA PhD (Research Services and Career Development, University of Vienna)

Invited guest: MMag. Dr. phil Ljiljana Radonić heads the “Globalized Memorial Museums. Exhibiting Atrocities in the Era of Claims for Moral Universals” project funded by an ERC Consolidator Grant  at the Institute of Culture Studies and Theatre History at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna.

Target group: Early-stage researchers at the Faculty of Social Sciences who do already have first postdoc experiences and plan to submit a proposal for one of the above-mentioned funding programmes
